Metroplex Opera Company Presents
Marriage of Figaro
This summer, the Metroplex Opera Company will celebrate it's ninth season by presenting in its entirety Mozart's famous comedy, The Marriage of Figaro. Performances will take place on Friday, July 15 at 7:00 p.m., with a Sunday matinee on July 17 at 2:30 p.m. All performances will take place at the Bank of America Theatre at the Charles W. Eisemann Center in Richardson, Tx.
The Charles W. Eisemann Center for Performing Arts and Corporate Presentations, which opened in September 2002, is located within Richardsonís Galatyn Park Urban Center, just north of Campbell Road at Central Expressway. The Bank of America Theatre is a 368-seat adaptable theater which is ideal for intimate opera performances.
The Metroplex Opera Company previously presented the Second Act of the Marriage of Figaro as a fundraiser, with performances in November 2009 at the Treemont Retirement Community in North Dallas. We are now excited to be able to build on that experience to bring you the entire opera.
General Admission - $20.00 each
All performances of the opera will be fully staged, in period costume, with a live orchestra, under the baton of MOC resident conductor, Dr. Beau Benson. Dr. Benson, who recently received his doctorate in conducting from Michigan State University, also conducted the company's double-bill last summer of La Serva Padrona and The Impresario.
The Metroplex Opera gives all singers honoraria, the amount depending on fundraising which will be ongoing until the performances.
